I’m delighted that Natural Bridge State Park is hosting their 3rd Caterpillar Weekend, Sept. 11-12.
Caterpillars are one stage in the life cycle of butterflies and moths, and they are the primary source of food for most baby birds. I find them fascinating, with their amazing diversity of sizes, shapes, designs and colors.
The Caterpillar Weekend is a fun event for kids of all ages. It will be fun to see what we discover on the 11th and 12th, and it would be great to see you there! There is a small fee, and you can find more information on the Natural Bridge website.
Please share this with anyone else who might be interested.
Wow Betty! What a wonderful sampling of caterpillars you have given us on your Backyard Blog this week, quite amazing!
I think they are all striking, and The Stinging Rose caterpillar is extraordinary! Wouldn’t i like to be on that caterpillar weekend
with you in September! Praying it will be a great success, and the weather will be perfect.
Pauline, do wish you could join us. Wouldn’t we have fun!
Had a great time a few years ago at the event. I learned a lot from the park rangers and think all who go will have a great time. Thanks for letting us know about the event!!!!
Wayne, Look forward to seeing you there.
Super excited, looking forward to seeing both familiar faces and new ones alike. This summer has been a great one for our family thus far. We have been fortunate in raising Black Swallowtail Caterpillars, Monarch Caterpillars and Spicebush Swallowtail Caterpillars.
Good for you! That’s a nice variety. I look forward to seeing you at the Caterpillar weekend
